There are plenty of rumours flying around suggesting that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently on their honeymoon in Mayo.
Last night, someone who was hoping to visit Ashford Castle tweeted that her trip had been spoiled by the presence of royalty, as she was not allowed inside the castle.
Evoke.ie are reporting that the castle has been closed to the public all week and that security has been heightened in the area. Evoke contacted the manager of Ashford Castle for information, only to be told that they “don’t comment on guests.”
Ashford Castle is the extremely fancy hotel that served as a venue for Rory McIlroy’s wedding last year. Guests included Ed Sheeran, Chris Martin, Niall Horan and Jamie Dornan, so Ashford Castle is well used to catering for celebrities.

Danny Dyer is focused on an entirely different Love Island to the one that his daughter Danni is currently starring in.
Since Danni entered Love Island, people have been eager for a “Gogglebox: Danny Dyer Watches Love Island” special. Or even a surprise appearance. But nah, Danny’s too busy working on Penguin Love Island.
Penguin Love Island is set in Chessington World of Adventures Resort in the UK, where they’re making a four-part mini series following zoo keepers who are trying to encourage mating between the penguins.
The actor has lent his voice for the narration of episode two, and explained that he heard about the initiative while he was feeding penguins with his kids and immediately wanted to get involved. He explained why he was interested: “I do love a penguin me.”
And the rest of the day’s dirt…
